Story: Aadi(Vijay) lives with his foster parents in New Delhi. He takes up a course in a college based in a far away city, against his parents' wishes. He has a secret mission in life — to eliminate the killers of his family. He runs into Anjali (Trisha), his course mate in the same college. It turns out she is also out to avenge the death of her parents and the two actually go back a long time.

Movie Review: It's funny how things come around sometimes. This movie is the Telugu version of the 2006 Tamil film, Aadi, which was a Tamil remake of the 2005 Tollywood action entertainer, Athanokkade, starring Kalyan Ram in the lead. Well, it's one of those standard edition revenge dramas that are served with the usual accompaniments - loads of slick action, sentiments, romance and the works - that makes you feel like you've watched a new old movie.

It's the tale of two estranged cousins - Aadi and Anjali - whose parents fall prey to an evil bad guy. They grow up separately with the sole aim of killing their parents' killers, only to run into each other in college. Sparks fly, they meet, fall in love, go about eliminating their enemies without knowing they know each other, until the end of course.

The film thrives on the graphic violence of the action episodes where the protagonists lynch, shoot and slit the baddies left right and centre. Vijay's performance is perhaps the highpoint of this otherwise run-of-the-mill movie. Trisha looking a lot younger than she does these days, does a decent job as well. Sai Kumar goes over board playing the baddie, while Prakash Raj does what is expected of him.

The film has all the elements of a pot boiler but they just don't come together well enough. The music is a bit of a dampener, save a couple of chase sequences, this movie has little to offer.

Note: Watch it if you want to see how different Trisha and Vijay looked in 2006.
