Jai Sriram Review

Story: Sriram Srinivas (Uday Kiran) is a man with a mission. He does the usual stuff that new police officers do - warn thugs and if they do not fall in line deal with them severely. The local politician and his son find the police officer too much of a hurdle in their activities.
Movie Review: A sincere police officer chances upon a hard disc containing evidence of all the illegal activities of a politician aspiring for a high position. The politician and his son set up an orphanage only to indulge in human organ trade and benefit out of it. It is a fight to the finish for both of them.
Powerful as they are, they even get the support of the police commissioner, to capture Sriram and hold him up at a secluded place with guards keeping a watch on him. Sriram believes in sticking to morals than garnering promotions in his department and therefore his superior who is hand in gloves with the politician also bays for his blood. Much as the gang would like Sriram to hand them over the hard disc, the captured police officer does not give in. And later, we come to know that Sriram escapes.
A free man now, Sriram is on a job, not as a police officer, but as a man who has been wronged. His mother and sister have been killed by the goons. And it is now time for revenge. Help comes in the form of a stranger, who directs his steps - one by one.
On the way to Goa on a mission as part of a plan to wreck vengeance, he gets to meet a girl Reshma (Reshma) who clings to him much as he would like to shake her off. And incidentally, it is this very girl, who brings him face to face with his final targets.
From being a chubby lover boy with dimples showing on his cheeks to a man with muscles, Uday Kiran has metamorphosed as an actor. Such is his complete transformation that one is tempted to draw parallels to Nana Patekar. Uday has shed his flab and looks fighting fit slipping into his role most appropriately. The stern looks and the expressionless face most other times convey the right emotion. Uday Kiran simply wants to say: Watch out, a brand new me is here. Ok Uday, now we know there's more to you than just yourself.
The movie is fast paced with deft camera work and editing. When it's time for the interval, the director raises the suspense, cleverly conceiving the plot. Reshma of Ee Rojollo fame reminds one of Kareena Kapoor in Jab We Met but the role demanded her to behave like that you see. Otherwise, this Trisha look-alike gives the role her best shot.
The movie is completely devoid of any humour and a couple of item songs could actually come as a relief so that you can WhatsApp some of your friends and acquaintances who you have not been in touch with of late.
